Emergency meeting summoned by the SADC following Marc Ravalomanana´s unsuccessful attempt to recover home soil.

On Tuesday, January 24th, following former president Marc Ravalomanana´s failed return home, the SADC summoned all of the main political leaders in this crisis, namely Marc Ravalomanana, Andry Rajoelina, the transitional regime´s number one, as well as Albert Zafy. The Ravalomanana sphere has already confirmed its participation. Andry Rajoelina, he who endorses the responsibility for banning Marc Ravalomanana from coming home, cannot expect roses from this emergency meeting, bearing in mind that the repression of the former president´ supporters at the airport in Ivato, led to one more casualty, another brick in the wall of the Malagasy political crisis.
Marc Ravalomanana emphasized his will to return home, and his intention to resume his flight no later than this week. His final decision will vastly depend on the outcome of this emergency meeting summoned by SADC.

The transition´s parliament has to organize a special session from February 14th on, in order to address an amnesty bill draft, for the SADC renewed its emphatic requirement of an amnesty bill to be passed before February 29th , as the outcome of its meeting held during the latest week end in Cape Town, South Africa. Such a bill is expected to allow former President Marc Ravalomanana, sentenced by the HAT´s Justice right after its putsch of March 2009, to recover home soil as a free man. [See]

The son of the exiled president, Marc Ravalomanana, made it clear that deterrents would not have him leave the country. Tojo Ravalomanana and his wife returned from exile by the end of 2011. The High Authority of Transition recently ordered a violent search of their home in Andranomanelatra, 140 kilometers away in the south of the capital city. It would not prove enough to have them recover South Africa. "We won´t be the ones returning to Daddy, he is the one who will soon join us," he bravely declared. His father, Marc Ravalomanana, is still in South Africa, banned by the ruling power from coming home. [See]

French uniforms, officially playing the role of instructors, are on the Malagasy soil as a matter of fact. In the midst of a political crisis, they are intending to train the armed forces as explained by the Malagasy Ministry of Defence. Considering that the transitional regime, already rejected by the population´s majority, no longer owes its rule but to a fringe of the army, those news are not contributing to lower tensions. Three years later, Rajoelina confirmed by stating that there will never ever be any deal between him and Marc Ravalomanana. The crisis settlement roadmap may now officially be considered as dead. Homeland Security department soldiers, search warrant and machine guns in the hands, surprised former president Marc Ravalomanana´s son by night on February 6th. They were armed men instructed to search his home by the transitional Presidency. The purpose of the search has not been revealed. The Ravalomanana sphere leaders did not hesitate to call it "persecution" against Marc Ravalomanana´s relatives. The Ravalomanana sphere´s reactions are far from matching the extent of former president´ supporters´ wrath. Sphere leaders seemingly find it hard to keep in control. Scores of opponents to the ruling regime are now calling upon a withdrawal from the government. The High Authority of Transition unmistakably proved its will to thwart the implementation of the roadmap. Lalao Ravalomanana was banned from coming home after a three years long exile abroad, although she is absolutely not legally charged in anything. [See]

Collaborators and hard liners supportive of the High Authority of Transition are longing for definitely getting rid of the roadmap drawn up by SADC, and preparing a fake putsch to this end. The main stake is the way to keep former President Marc Ravalomanana away from the island´s ground whatever it takes, although such a homecoming is allowed and required by the roadmap as part of the crisis settlement process. The Marc Ravalomanana sphere is getting ready to welcome milady Lalao Ravalomanana, the exiled president´s wife. She is supposed to reach Ivato´s airport on Saturday, February 4th . Having a member of the Ravalomanana clan recovering home soil seems to be boosting the former President´s supporters who have so far been waiting for almost three years. The movement´s leaders announced Lalao Ravalomanana´s homecoming as "great news". [See]

The meeting between the committe addressing the recovery of political stability and the transitional parliament did not meet the expectations. A couple of hours long talks proved not enough to agree on the possibility to turn any amnesty bill up to the end of this month [See]
