Decisive week for the Lutheran church

Madagascar’s Lutheran Church’s great synod will come to an end this week. The Church’s new president’s name will be revealed before Friday, September 14th. From September 4th on, some 400 members of the Lutheran church have been taking part into the synode taking place in Toliara, in the southern part of the country. Just like the FJKM reformed church, politics poked their noses where they were not supposed to have a say.
The current episode could duly be named “Battle for Churches”. The High Authority of Transition and its supporters got a move on to conquer the FLM (the Lutheran Church of Madagascar). During the latest weeks before the synod, priests held as supportive of the opposition were replaced by Andry Rajoelina and his supporters throughout the province of Antananarivo, some secret talks have taken place in a capital city hotel but did contribute to massively change the odds. The arbitrary replacement of priests was rejected and condemned by the FLM’s direction, and the HAT’s supporters remain a small minority in the synod. The vote is deemed to take place in the run of this week.
Let it be recalled that the HAT and its supporters suffered a memorable blow a short while ago as an outcome of the FJKM Reformed Church’s latest synod. Protestants remain generally for the former president Marc Ravalomanana. So, Andry Rajoelina tactically tries to collect support from Catholics. Not even this is actually nowhere near to a done deal yet, for every layer of the society has to pay the price for his transitional rule. Catholics are themselves much divided about this issue

Lalao Ravalomanana, the former first lady has, by the end of the week, tackled her campaign in the North of Madagascar, while, Andry Rajoelina, the self proclaimed transitional leader and her main opponent took the opposite direction, and opened a hospital in Toliara. Let the challenge begin. The SADC has however just been having its meeting in Maputo and emphasized as a consequence that it would pledge no recognition to any election involving any of the three candidates rejected by the international community. Some parliament members who used to be very much supportive of Andry Rajoelina, the transitional leader, have just been fired as one of the latest governmental cabinet meeting's outcome.A wave of indignation shakes the Upper Chamber, while the dismissed ones even intend to raise a protest movement. The transitional parliament is currently ponding, and expected to pass a law draft concerning the temporary absence of top leadership, supposed to follow Andry Rajoelina's resignation from his position of ruling power's current leader. The FFKM keen on taking the next step forward: after its general consultation casted at the International Conference Center in Ivato by the beginning of May, the FFKM church leaders made it clear that the latest three chiefs of state and the current outgoing leader of the transitional ruling power will be brought together in the run of a summit. When these four party talks will be started, has not yet been revealed by the FFKM leaders. Yet, a cluster of sources considers the need to cast the summit before June 26th's national day as paramount. The invitations respectively sent to the island's latest three Presidents Didier Ratsiraka, Albert Zafy and Marc Ravalomanana, as well as to the transitional ruling power's leader Andry Rajoelina, are already underway. This year's June 26th may expect to be more peculiar than the other ones. Military commanders decided to make it theirs, as a matter of fact. The armed forces will get inspected by the armed forces transitional minister and the transitional secretary of state for the state police department. Not a single civilian leader will be seen at this inspection during the military parade inside the stadium of Mahamasina, and the celebrations basically organized by the civilian government have been canceled. the transitional government decided to postpone the presidential elections to August 23rd. A major part of the candidates opposes the decision, while the National Electoral Commission regrets the fact of having been granted no say in this issue. The electoral judges agreed on a decision which does not contradict the previous one taken back on May 3rd, concerning July 24th's presidential election's starting line. The transitional ruling power's institution leaders have gathered, protected by an unusually outstanding mlitary ring, and their so named secretive conclave's outcome ws a resolution, content of which has not been publicly revealed. Everything hints the likely postponment of the presidential elections basically supposed to take place on July 24th. Series of politically motivated hindrances increasingly make it unlikely to come true as expected so far.
