Mahajanga : going for a walk along the seaside 29/01/2014 | 07:01:14

One single week in Mahajanga is too long enough to get oneself in: the local customs cannot be resisted. The main attraction: going for a walk by the sea in the early evening . Every evening, the seaside, not too far away from the harbor, teems with a large number of locals, holiday makers and travelling foreigners. By twilight time, all these people of all ages spontaneously make for the beach and meet with friends and relatives by the sea. The extraordinarily fresh sea breeze sees to it that the next hours become unforgettable. On the seaside promenade in Mahajanga, even the Grumpy Cat would recall how relieving and reviving a smile actually is.

The seaside promenade is first and foremost an ideal meeting place to those willing to seize the opportunity to meet new friends, reunite with longtime friends, or simply date a love of one's heart ... Drinks and snacks are obviously part of it. On weekends, the seaside would make believe, that the whole city had been evacuated. Some people rumor that Saturdays belong to the residents of Tsararano ( Mahajanga's popular area ), and Sundays to those of the Corniche (  a residential area ) . But hearsays have never kept anyone from any district to join the promenade at will and mingle among the crowds on Saturdays as well as on Sundays. Mahajanga stands on Madagascar's western coast as a matter of fact. Once again the city's promenade draws an asset up its sleeve. The sunset is a wonderful opportunity to watch families and friends spending time together joyfully enjoying the sunset's fading beams!
