The capital city to the Malagasy wine 31/03/2014 | 11:11:13

Halfway ( in the south) between Antananarivo and Toliara on the National Road No. 7, Ambalavao is by rights the capital of the Malagasy wine.

White , red, gray , soft ... here just as anywhere else, connoisseurs do appreciate the taste of Malagasy made wine. A number of different wine-making companies can hardly be overlooked all around the city of Ambalavao . The broad areas in that region happen to be perfectly suited to viticulture on an industrial level. From these plantations, the grapes are being supplied; transformed on the spot, then find their place into the composition of the many brands available on the market of existing wines. As expected, the selection of wine products is increasing. From ordinary grapes, a respected local company produces both juice and wine of all kinds as well as liquor and spirits made by 40% of pure alcohol The plantations, however, do not merely provide grapes to the industry but also a beautiful landscape to  the region of Ambalavao, a town and home to 20 000 souls mainly from the Betsileos ethnic group, also famed by a particular fondness for wine. 280 miles away from the capital waits a place and its inhabitants for a visit, and they are definitely worth it. Guess what : the way is in mint condition
