International organizations as much as home based press groups have largely been focusing on the former president's unexpected recovery of home soil over the last few days. The International Community has a whole, namely the African Union, the United States of America, the European Union just like the Quai d'Orsay may have firmly condemned the speech rendered by the former president in the run of his first press conference granted from his home, but no one has, so far, been challenging his come back home, or turn him back. The MBS (Malagasy Broadcasting System), the radio and TV stations group founded once by former president Marc Ravalomanana is said to be considering the resumption of its activities according to its officials. In the run of a press conference, the MBS station's editor in chief and lawyers emphatically reminded that the station happens to be free to recover on air at will since actually no justice sentence bans it from doing so. This district is still part of the urban municipality of Antananarivo city. Andranovory is located at the east end of the capital city. This is where we often encounter 15 years old Manjaka, a young shepherd who usually grazes his few dozen sheep in the fields, grass of which has been dried out by a cold of winter soon coming to an end by the beginning of September. An awful lot of emotions, reactions and comments have been stirred by the former Malagasy President's unexpected come back on home soil. He was put under arrest few hours following his first press conference granted at home in the last 6 years. Everybody believes to know what Marc Ravalomanana's return home and arrest are all about, but nobody actually does. [See]

The Malagasy ruling power intends to burn a number of rosewood logs down. The concerned stocks are supposed to be stuck down in remote areas, far away from export harbors and much too hard to be reached. But ecologic groups vividly oppose the initiative in response. [See]

Nobody has ever been exposed to the Ebola virus either in Toamasina city or anywhere else in Madagascar. The single noticeable outbreak is that of formal reactions from the government in order to curtail any baseless panic wave. The head of the regional healthcare department of Toamasina city made it clear that neither city hospitals nor any other minor healthcare center have detected any infection with the Ebola virus anywhere. "There is no Ebola case whatsoever!" emphatically stated Frederic Rabearison. In the harbor city, a certain media group argued that one case of Ebola virus infection would have appeared. The very Head of Region quickly got a move on to dismiss this allegation before it scares local population and holiday makers away. "This allegation is wrong" emphasized Michel Talata. [See]

Although the very President of the Republic has the engagement of talks with both major aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing high on his schedule, it does not prove enough to restore confidence among the employees of Air Madagascar, still disappointed and still traumatized by the setback recently suffered when the government unexpectedly sided with Air France like a turncoat while it was audaciously challenged by them. As for the classification of the national airline company in the European aviation institution's B category, this issue would actually originate from the trade competition concerning the renewal of the fleet's aircrafts and from commercial exploitation policies as well. Madagascar wants to recover its position in the family of French speaking countries. The country' second official language might get through in the education system and in the administration, remains however very far from being spoken on a daily basis by every single Madagascan. The number computed and reported by Clement Duhaime, Administrator of the international organization of the French speaking countries, is surprisingly low: only 1.5 million out of the Malagasy population read, write and speak French at all. In other words, the language of Moliere actually scores no better than any other foreign language in the education as a matter of fact. Still, the Malagasy President, as a good French-speaking diplomat, expects the Great Isle to be welcome at the summit of the OIF in 2016. [See]

Latest account: 1150 journalists for 22 million people! Are there enough of them? Should the focus rather lay on quality than on numbers? The new media landscape of Madagascar is by now on the making, first of all through the assignment of the valuable press card, then, through the erection of a new leading bureau to the order of journalists, and then through the scheduled draft of a new Code of Communication. But how do the concerned journalists actually assess their own profession? [See]
