Dany Be produced the best snapshots in the run of the events which punctuated the aftermaths of the Isle´s independence, and he proudly knows that to be true. Dany Be was one of the scarce reporters who captured the bloody events which occurred in the country´s south in 1971, as the Monima party led a rural violently silenced rural uprising. When the armed forces shot straight at the demonstrating crowd on Mai 13th, 1972, he was there too. For years he has been collecting old photos illustrating Madagascar´s recent history, and often, its tough reality.
