The ANTSIVA radio station has turned 18 years old on December 3rd. Its quite diversified audience took the occasion to congratulate its favorite radio station, which has been long playing, into the country’s political life, a role that can’t be played down.

By the beginning, the station was founded and belonged to Tovonanahary Rabetsitonta, leader of the GRAD ILOAFO political party. Then it was purchased by Edgar Razafindravahy, closely linked to Andry Rajoelina, the transitional leader who rewarded his support with the position of Antananarivo city’s special delegation’s president. ANTSIVA has consequently been supporting the transitional ruling power since 2009 after a several years long past as counterweight to various regimes. Its acting reporters make a pride of the fact though, that on January 26th, ANTSIVA’s waves were the only ones to have remained on air during the hottest days of the unfolding putsch. By that time, Marc Ravalomanana, as President, addressed the nation through ANTSIVA, following the destruction of the national radio and TV stations and that of his own media group
