Increasingly contradictory versions are spreading concerning the slaughter of February 7th, 2009 which, somehow paved Andry Rajoelina´s way to power a wee bit more than one month later.

Massacre of February 7th, 2009: The true killers wanted

In 2009, February 7th´s shoot out swiftly turned into Rajoelina´s main argument in his “demonization” campain against Marc Ravalomanana´s regime. The former President was quickly labeled as murderer .

Two years later, an increasing number of people is turning against Andry Rajoelina. He was after all the one who launched the assault on the palace, as a matter of fact. But, today, the very origin of the shots which claimed about forty casualties on that day is being addressed.

Ex-president Albert Zafy dared pointing at Rajoelina´s herd, responsible for having ordered snipers to shoot as many people as possible. These declarations are now seemingly being confirmed by lieutenant colonel Charles Andrianasoavina´s report, a former ally of the Rajoelina sphere now in jail. According to the report, some state policemen took positions on the buildings surrounding the palace of Ambohitsorohitra without any official order.

“These armed privates commanded by Commanders Lylison René of Rolland Urbain, took position on the ex-PSM, Treasure, Finance ministry, and Hotel du Louvres buildings, and shot at the demonstrators´ flanks”, stated Charles Andrianasoavina in a letter written on January 17th.
