The opposition was allowed to hold a meeting in Alarobia, in a stadium located in the north of the capital city, on Decembre 8th. The ousted president, Marc Ravalomanana, spoke through a phone line call and confirmed his will to negotiate with the country´s current rulers.

As a conclusion to a joyful weekend, Antananarivo´s authorities allowed the opposition´s political spheres to gather in the city. The High Authority of Transition actually decided to massively celebrate the Isle´s first steps in its fourth Republic on December 11th, and granted a stadium to the opposition´s movement three days earlier in order to avoid mass demonstrations likely to thwart the celebrations. Rajoelina´s most fervent supporters do not forcibly like this blow of generosity, as the opposition is displaying no evidence of will to stop the struggle, even if it is now the underdog.
