The union of Madagascan Reporters called upon the capital city’s professionals to emphasize the union’s claims in the street around the Journalists’ Order’s Monument located on Independence Avenue in Analakely. The union wants all of the radio and television channels censored by the ruling power to be allowed to freely broadcast, and the current minister of communications to step down.

Reporters down to the street

Rocco Rasoanaivo, the union’ s president, denounced the suspension of every judicial process in the case related to the military forces led assault on the FREQUENCE PLUS station’s facilities a couple of years ago. Then, he drew up the list of whatever the FREE FM station has so far been enduring. A court has recently ordered the SITRAM company’s area to be sealed, although the aforementioned station is located over the concerned area. The whole lot happens besides to be disputed by Herizo Razafimahaleo’s heirs and Edgar Razafindravahy, the new owner.

As a consequence to a previously imposed ultimatum, the union of journalist carried its public demonstration out. Neither clashes nor trouble were reported, although an unidentified group tried to demonstrate on no clear account a few yards away from the same monument.
