The project of building a tram line between Antananarivo´s central and suburban parts was born during Patrick Ramiaramanana´s mandate, and is not yet gone down

The Antananarivo´s tram project is not yet dead

The tram line would not merely link Soarano to Mandroseza. It is likely to be 12 miles long, and link the center to Ambohitrimanjaka and Ambohimangakely, that is to say the station of Alarobia to the south and the east.

Railways are being extended. 45 houses located downtown in Ankorondrano are deemed to be destroyed; their owners are, of course, expecting new homes from the city´s authorities but the project has so far suffered no major opposition.

Wagons have long been delivered; the time to clean out the railways has come; by far the largest task in sight, since low districts´ inhabitants are used to drop their dump there. As far as Antananarivo is concerned, calling the incoming vehicle a tram would be slightly exaggerated. It would be all foremost a suburban train
