The CCOC, the national civil society's associations' union, is requiring transparency over State financial management from the HAT and its government. Beyond the economic propaganda repeatedly stating than everything is going to be alright, citizens are longing for concrete data, and especially figures .

The civil society asking the HAT for accounts

It is the civil society’s first ever call for accounts addressed to the HAT. A “slight” impedance between the locomotive’s luxurious lifestyle and the rest of the train’s distress. The HAT certainly promised transparency, but as so certainly failed to hold on to its word, again, so much that the situation is a cause for concern. According to Jean Pierre Rakotofiringa from the CCOC (Union of citizens and citizenship organisations), the transitional regime is required to detail its economic and social policies, and to define their bases. The civil society is calling upon a report over governance in general, from minister to minister.

The financial governance is equally a cause for concern for the civil society. The HAT is emphatically required to start playing fair game with the state’s resources and financial management. The CCOC is even more concerned since pending economic sanctions are on their way to Madagascar as a whole. The budget meant to be dedicated to the erection of pledged institutions is still a complete mystery. Finally, the civil society addressed the leaders’ somehow unusually luxurious life style. Transparency on incomes is consequently also required. The CCOC is definitely believing the restoration of good governance to be a key component for the restoration of the people’s confidence. Oh right! Andry Rajoelina suppressed the parliament, so the HAT has never had to give any accounts to anyone.
