Political mobility representatives have been convened in Antananarivo by African Union's special envoys to a rehearsal meeting prior to the Addis-Ababa summit.

Addis-Ababa summit : rehearsal meeting in Antananarivo

The African Union’s envoys convened the representatives of the Marc Ravalomanana, Andry Rajoelina, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy mobilities in Antananarivo on October 27th, to prepare the Addis-Ababa summit.

Besides, the African Union’s representatives met the president of the High Authority of Transition, Andry Rajoelina, in margin of this rehearsal meeting.

This contact already forecasts a burning atmosphere between the four mobility leaders in the meeting hall of Addis-Ababa Ethiopia. The Andry Rajoelina mobility has indeed more especially underlined that the pattern emerged from the mediators’ meeting of October 6th held in Antananarivo should no more be questioned, namely the maintenance of Rajoelina at the Transition’s presidency, the assignment of vice-president’s position to the Albert Zafy mobility, and that of the Prime minister to the Didier Ratsiraka mobility.

As far as it  is concerned, the Marc Ravalomanana mobility has an totally opposite view. The ousted president’s collaborators are clearly intending to draw the scheme all over again, more especially the possible recognition of Rajoelina at the Transition’s presidency. Marc Ravalomanana himself has time and time again emphasized that he would never ever sign any agreement assigning the Transition’s presidency to Andry Rajoelina.

For the time being, both men’s conflicting stands are hampering a definitive agreement on a possible consensual Transition from coming true. The outcome of the Addis-Ababa is everything but predictable.
