He is most senior of all the political mobility leaders who have been taking part into the Maputo summit. Albert Zafy has, henceforth, taken the initiative to convene a meeting of mobilities in order to take stock of the discussions started in the Mozambican capital city.
Three mobilities (Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy) were present at the Carlton hotel. The mobility Andry Rajoelina apologized to former president Zafy, because another meeting, also concerning debates started in Maputo, was held at the same moment, according to the apology letter.
After Maputo II, the spotlights have been focused on the Andry Rajoelina mobility that promised to come up with a firm decision before September 4th. The Rajoelina mobility is, at present, refusing to give up either the Prime minister’s seat or the Transition’s presidency to other political entities, as expected by the three other mobilities.
For political parties close to Rajoelina, the latter must be maintained at the Transition’s presidency and Monja Roindefo kept on top of the government. They call it the “gains from the popular movement “.
Such a stand actually blocked the Maputo II talks, supposed to end on the designation of the Transition’s main leaders to be in charge up to the erection of the fourth Republic.
According to press groups close to the High Authority of Transition, one Cabinet meeting has been held on Tuesday September 1st, in the palace of Ambohitsorohitra, to debate the stand to be adopted, once back in Maputo, by that the present staff in power, the “de facto authorities” as tagged by the international community.
Likewise, HAT supporters will be consulted to this end. The position put forth by supporters of the putschist government is unequivocal. The live phone line interventions on the pro-HAT channels can be taken as a proof: Monja Roindefo, Prime minister, and Andry Rajoelina, president, at any cost.
