Andry TGV…and the hope of a whole generation and city

It was the fourth time in my life I voted yesterday; and for once, I really feel like my choice has been heard. Around 23h00 yesterday, the trend was really clear, the runner Andry TGV attained at a full speed the score of 61.68%. What should we understand from the events happening during the last 24 hours?

As a young person, I believe that the first reason is that the young generation united their voice into one and is giving a clear warning to the government that it is about their future and they should not think that the elders decide and the youth just follows. We also made clear that we have in our hand the power to control the life of this country, and it is all about the choice of the people and not theirs.

I was so overwhelmed by my emotion when I was watching the vote counting and realised that Andry TGV was overtaking power.  At last, we have space and oxygen to breathe. I am also proud that my fellow citizens realised that it is not only about nice gardens, parks and talks, not about an enticing MAP program, although really important for our own development, it is also all about sincerity and courage; something that the couple Rajoelina showed along the way.

People also want someone independent, someone in control of his own destiny and initiatives. Besides, I think it was a failure of democracy that the private TV channel “TV Plus” did not manage to organise the face to face debate among the three main candidates because a candidate backed off at the last minute. If we want to represent the people, we should never be afraid to be open and to face the reality, and that is also one lesson we learnt and one main role of a would-be mayor.
