Ankarafantsika National Park to attract more

In 2004, more than 8300 visitors have visited the National Park of Ankarafantsika, located in the North-west of the country, in the Mahajanga region. The number of visitors is however still increasing. For this reason, the park has decided to increase its hosting capacity. The hosting center will thus soon accept 80 visitors for the night. The Ankarafantsika park, spans over more than 130.000 ha of dry forest, hosting 129 bird types and in the Ravelobe lake (23 ha) more than a hundred caimans. An not to mention the 8 species of lemurs. To see them, the lucky visitor does not have to dig deep into the forest but may, at some times of the day, see the lemurs play around in the trees along the national road.
