Madagascar National Parks attract more and more visitors.

Ecotourism : more than a trend

Madagascar is still counting on the diversity of its fauna and flora as a promoter of the destination. The Island National Parks attract more and more visitors, being national or from abroad. The news magazine Les Nouvelles writes : “Ecotourism is without doubt the main tourism product of Madagascar. Guy Suzon Ramangason, the General Director of ANGAP (the National Association for Protected Areas Management in Madagascar), says that the 6 best known parks on the Island attract each year about 90% of foreign visitors. In 2004, the ANGAP managed parks have received more than 100’000 visitors. 73% where foreign tourists”. This number is increasing this year and we learned that 41 new protected areas should be opened soon.
