Presidential election : 20 115 polling stations throughout Madagascar

The number of polling stations keeps growing throughout the Great Isle. 19000 ones have been recorded in the run of the year 2010’s referendum. Some 20115 polling stations will this time around serve the presidential elections in Madagascar. It is technically speaking an evidence of success, bearing in mind that the more stations there are, the better the connection to the population supposed to express its point. Yet, concerns do not wither.

Electoral observers explain that faked polling stations happen to be the main vessels to electoral frauds. Making sure that each and every polling station presented by the ruling power is genuine or not would practically be impossible. According to one the civil society member’s testimony, some polling stations would be located in private facilities, some others in the open air. Besides, although candidates is in need of time to get their respective staff ready, and have their representatives join the polling stations, they have been told about this number but quite late. And the figure is definitely a financial challenge to each of them
