Gold sector: Kraoma fulfills its social engagement

As widely known, compliance with the specifications statements is one of the biggest obligations of all mining companies in Madagascar. The company Kraoma has just fulfilled its social and economic engagement through the implementation of various infrastructures in some of the regions where it operates. Thanks to a fruitful public-private partnership, various infrastructures were inaugurated last week in the Betsiboka Region, namely in the Commune of Tsaratanana, District of Maevatanana. The inauguration was honored by the presence of some high officials from the Ministry of Mining.

Indeed, socio-economic development and the respect of the environment are among the main lines stipulated in the specifications that Kraoma Company must comply with. Stressing the importance of complying with the specifications, the Minister of Mining, Rajo Randriafeno, stated that “though Kraoma is yet in the phase of gold prospecting in the Betsiboka Region, it has the obligation to contribute to the development of the community in that region.” The region’s administrative body identified some priority projects that would be beneficial to the population in general and then submitted the projects to Kraoma.

Kraoma is well known for its exploitation of gold in the Commune of Brilleville. Currently, the exploitation site has expanded all the way to Andriamena. And for almost four years now, Moramanga has been an important prospecting site for the company.
