Humanization of prison detention: Prison Fellowship takes care of Malagasy detainees

Detainees in the prison establishments of Antanimora, Miarinarivo, Antsirabe, Anjanamasina, and Moramanga will receive health care and free of charge medicines, offered by Prison Fellowship International (PFI). This humanitarian action was organized as part of the activities scheduled during the visit of PFI delegation composed of seven German doctors, including a dentist, which is led by the regional manager of Prison Fellowship in Africa, Samuel N’Tcho.

Last Saturday, the delegation visited the detainees of the prison of Antanimora, a visit that was marked by the presentation of projects realized by PFI during their stay in Madagascar, which are undertaken in partnership with the Malagasy penitentiary administration. In fact, the health care activities will continue until September, 30 in the five prisons mentioned above. They reflect the implementation of the penitentiary administration program whose aim is to humanize prison detention conditions and especially to promote the respect of fundamental rights of detainees.
