Institut Pasteur de Madagascar : 83 employees decorated

The Insitut Pasteur de Madagascar (IPM) performed yesterday a medal  ceremony during which 83 of its best employees were being decorated. 3 employees were decorated with the grade Officer of the National Order, 16 with the Knights of the National Order, 17 with the Knights of the Order of Merit, 23 with silver medals, 10 with bronze medals. In sum, 20 bronze medals were distributed during the ceremony.

The history of the collaboration between the Institut Pasteur and the Department of Public Health dates back a hundred years ago. Being recognized as a public utility, the IPM has a valuable place in the country’s books of archives thanks to its research and analysis activities. For instance, the strategy for the fight against plague or the research on  malaria are notably part of the work undertaken by the IPM.

It is important to note that the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar is an institution placed under the authority of the Ministry of Public Health and the network of the Institut Pasteur all around the world. Directly funded by that network, in partnership with the Department of Public Health and the French government, the IPM operates  in the development of any researches that affect the health developement in the countries where the network is embedded.
