“Itasy Fair”: about twenty craftsmen exhibiting their products at the CCIA

Organized by the Consular Chamber of Itasy (CCI), the “Itasy Fair” is an exhibition event during which about twenty craftsmen from the Itasy Region promote their products. The event takes place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Antananarivo (CCIA) and lasts about a week. According to Andry Rakotoarisoa, Executive Manager of CCI, the objective of the fair is to improve the participants’ contact and familiarity with the market environment.

Operating in various fields like silk, leather, pottery, horn, plant fiber, and bonsai, the exhibitors hope to get contract from potential customers or collaborators such as big hotels from the capital or big exporting companies. Most of craftsmen in the Region of Itasy are gathered within the Consular Chamber of Itasy and supported financially and technically by the project PROSPERER. But the Chamber also includes other members from different areas such as trade, farming and service sector. The chief mission of the Chamber is to ensure the creation and development SMEs in the region.
