The debate on the amnesty is a favourite topic for the leaders of the legalistic movement. Jean Louis Rakotoamboa, Secrectary General of the Teza party emphasized that Andry Rajoelina must be as concerned by the amnesty regarding his responsibilities and the serious consequences of his acts during the 2009 political crisis.

Jean Louis Rakotoamboa: Andry Rajoelina also has blood on the hands

The legalistic leaders reject the HAT’s hints linking the amnesty to president Ravalomanana’s return and use these to explain the failure of negotiations. Andry Rajoelina’s supporters refuse general amnesty for all acts and facts previous to the date of signature, recommending December 2008 as deadline. In clear, this position is a strategy aiming to definitely get rid of the elected president.

Jean Louis Rakotoamboa affirmed in front of the legalistic demonstrators that the general amnesty is necessary for everybody including the Coup authors in 2009. “Mr. Andry Rajoelina, you also have blood on the hands” has he protested. The SG of the Teza insisted on the responsibility of Antananarivo’s former mayor in leading demonstrators to the presidential palace in Ambohitsorohitra, to be shot down.

In the legalistic ranks, there were also deaths and injuries. The difference is that these latest ones have not been rewarded by the HAT. Fires and depredations during the crisis, in the hottest moments of what is now called the ” fozaorana revolution”, are also blamed on the putsch makers. HAT Soldiers’ abuses that took place during the repression of the legalistic demonstration have been obviously blamed on the demonstrators by propaganda.

The TIM member of Parliament who lead the pro-Ravalomanana movement also denied Andry Rajoelina’s affirmation of a supposed engagement to forget about the elected president’s return to Madagascar. “There is no written accord to prove it “, said Yves Aimé Rakotoarison.

For the legalistic side, the general amnesty should concern everybody. Crimes committed during the crisis are to be forgotten to advance toward the national reconciliation. Andry Rajoelina and those he used to make a Coup or to repress with violence the following contestation movement, are not worried yet since they have power. It won’t be so eternally. The TGV herd also needs amnesty.
