The Land Services celebrated their 115th year of existence on Friday, March 9 at Anosy. Today, to be close to the population and the fight against corruption are the main strategy goals of the Directorate General of Land Services which aims to be a neutral, transparent and credible administration, according to the words of Tantely Ravelojaona, the General Manager of the Services. The Minister of Development and Country Planning, Hajo Andrianainarivelo, for his part, explained that no development can take place without the good management of lands and territories.

In fact, land tenure security is essential for investments, especially in agriculture. For the Minister Hajo Andrianarivelo, the issues regarding land ownership should be a priority for the nation. It is to be noted that Land Services are the first and only service to have a permanent office in Madagascar. According to Tantely Ravelojaona, the first Administration office in Madagascar was that of the Land Services, open since March 9, 1896, during the reign of Ranavalomanjaka III.
