Madagascar Oil: involved in social and community works

Aware of its social duties, Madagascar Oil has honored its responsibilities in supporting human and economic development in the surroundings localities where the company is established, with the goal of getting a ripple effect in the development of Madagascar.

Indeed, the company’s effort of creating three major social projects has been set up. These include the construction of a Primary Public School in Ankisatra, the construction of roads that provide access to the Commune of Ankondromena, which would remain accessible even during the rain season, and the supplying the potable water system in the Commune of Beravina. Potable water supply and other entrepreneurship projects will also be carried out in other surrounding Fokontany (neighborhood).

Moreover, according to Ratsiza Rakotomanga, chief of the Fokontany of Ankisatra, a Gendarmerie outpost should be established in their locality to ensure the safety of the population. “The dahalo (zebu thieves) often invade our village; hence the population lives in utter fear and frustration”. In sum, apart from setting up the oil exploitation project of Tsimiroro, Madagascar Oil wants to show its social and environmental concerns. For that, the company talks about expanding the projects cited above in order to promote sustainable development, especially for the benefit of very remote areas.
