Malagasy Biodiversity at the heart of a colloquium held in Lyon

While officially proclaimed by the United Nations Organization as the International year of biodiversity, 2010 is also the year the International Research Group on Biodiversity and Sustainable Development (GDRI-BDDM) organizes a large colloquium dealing with the theme “the GDRI-BDDM and the issues of biodiversity”. Organized by the 2 managers of GDRI-BDDM, the colloquium on biodiversity will take place from November 3 to 5, 2010 in Lyon, France.

The main goal of the colloquium is to give research teams working on the biodiversity of Madagascar a chance to exchange views, approaches, research results and other relevant issues concerning biodiversity. The colloquium will be an opportunity for environment technicians to discuss seriously about environmental problems in Madagascar. Thus, the participation of junior researchers is highly recommended. In general, the colloquium will be focused on 4 main lines:

1)      Analysis of Biodiversity

2)      Biodiversity and the functioning of the ecosystem

3)      Valuation of Biodiversity

4)      Biodiversity and Health
