Railroad: the unique locomotive of the FCE network has broken down

People living on the East Coast of Madagascar are very dependent on the railroad transportation network, known as FCE (Fianarantsoa Côte-Est), on their daily activities. The railroad network FCE connects the city of Fianarantsoa with that of Manakara. Unfortunately in recent time, the only FCE operational locomotive has broken down, and thus both localities are now facing difficulties regarding the transportation of people and goods.

Regarding this, Benja Urbain Andriantsizehena, the Vice-President of the Congress of the Transition, who himself is a native of Fianarantsoa called on to the government to find an immediate solution to the problem affecting the FCE railroad network. According to Benja Andriatsizehena, the railroad network is vital for the economy of the Vatovavy Fitovinany and the Haute Matsiatra Regions in that the majority of the agricultural products from those two regions are transported via the FCE railroad. Benja Andriantsizehena particularly called on to the Minister of Transportation to negotiate with Madarail so that this company would immediately fix the problem by providing FCE with a new locomotive.
