Ranovisy, the famous Vichy water has its sister in Antsirabe

It is in reference to the famous “Vichy water”, with which it shares the taste, that the thermal spring of Antsirabe was called Ranovisy.  It is not for nothing either that the town of Antsirabe is often described as the “town of water”.  The locality indeed counts significant sources of these thermal springs.  Close to the district of Ampatana, the thermal spring is very attended.  A local company has just been established for the setting in bottles of this water which would have some therapeutic virtues, in particular regarding the digestive system.  Antsirabe is also a place for walking and relaxing.  In the district of Ranomafàna, the thermal spring made it possible to create a swimming pool and a place of cure.  The name of the town of Antsirabe is supposed to come from the expression “any sira Be” which is related to the presence of salt in the thermal waters.
