Sending Malagasy workers in Saudi Arabia: the placement agency, GSR, in Mahajanga

In the next few days, the placement agency called, “Global Service Recruitment” (GSR), will be established in the province of Mahajanga. It will undertake all the procedures relating to the recruitment of young people in that region to work in Saudi Arabia. The establishment of the agency was officially announced during the meeting between the Chief of the Boeny region, Jean-Christophe Rasoloniaina, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Madagascar, Audoux Septime Fierenana, and the General Manager of GSR, Ali Moussa Aboubakar.

During the meeting, both parties discussed about an important issue, namely security and protection of rights in the workplace, which recently sparked a lot of controversial debates in the country regarding the sending of Malagasy workers in foreign country like Lebanon. Concerning that matter, the Chargé d’Affaires promised that the Embassy will take care of all immigration procedures, including work visa, work permit, travel and will make sure that employers respect the employees as well as the contract statements. In addition, the Chief of the Boeny Region himself will travel to Saudi Arabia by the end of November in order to assess the working and accommodation infrastructures that will await the workers. The branch of Global Service Recruitment in Antananarivo has recently sent 500 Malagasy workers in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and up to this point, no complaints have yet been reported.
