Textile industry: Socota stresses on the capacity building of its employees

Functional since May 2012, the new training center of the Group Socota was inaugurated on July 26, 2012, in the Group’s vast compound in Antsirabe. The official inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of some Malagasy personalities, including the Prime Minister, Omer Beriziky, and the President of the High Council of the Transition authority, Dolin Rasolosoa.

Since its creation in the 1930s, the Group Socota has never ceased to promote Malagasy textile products, both locally and internationally. And the project of building a training center is another proof of the Group’s commitment in that effort. As pointed out by the CEO of Socota, Salim Ismail, the best way to make Malagasy textile products more competitive, especially on the international market, is to increase its quality, thus, requiring more skills and competency from textile workers. The primary goal of the Group Socota Training Center is then to reinforce the working capacity of its employees. And in order to satisfy the Group’s ambition of having efficient and versatile workers, the training center provides training in the technical fields as well as in other fields, including the teaching of foreign languages such as French and English.
