So, each of the three concerned candidates is expected to single handedly withdraw from the presidential race. So sounds the single solution worked out by the International Community’s mediation team sent by the SADC, the IOC, the IFO and the African Union. This massive delegation failed however to convince any of the three candidates to do it willingly. Besides, unity does not rule either among Madagascar’s foreign partners. France and the SADC organization are pushing for the withdrawal of all three candidates whereas the United States of America rather happen to long for the opened tournament option.
The SADC's mediation team took a stand: Andry Rajoelina, Lalao Ravalomanana and Didier Ratsiraka, all three candidates rejected by one part of the International Community, have 15 days starting from today to withdraw from the eluding presidential race lest sanctions fall. The sanctions in question have not yet been clearly defined. Only France's were, namely the denial of entry on French territory for each of the three candidates.
