The latest days have been darkened by series of bad news for the FJKM protestant churches. A pastor has been shot deae in the run of the military confrontation of May 20th, the church's radio channel has been silenced, and employees currently being held in police custody.

The FJKM church denounces the political harassment

The president of the FJKM, pastor Lala Rasendrahasina, denounced the harassment directed at the reformed church. The closing of the Fahazavàna radio station cleared had led to the detention of six of its employees.

Pastor Ranaivo Rivo Arison, shot dead in the run of the FIGN base camp clashes, was a cause for anger for the FJKM leaders.

A large majority of the Clerical Leaders’ Movement is stemming from the FJKM church, something that has never been to the High Authority of Transition’s liking, namely because Marc Ravalomanana is still the acting laic vice-president of this reformed church. Relations have anyway been very tense between the HAT and the FJKM, since March 2009’s Coup. And the situation has not been getting any better ever since.
