Madagascar´s Union of Magistrates is intending to complain against the HAT´s Minister in charge of Internal Security, Arsene Rakotondrazaka, following the two months long and finally unsuccessful request of the national police chief´s resignation. The certain number of police officers in the run of the Rehavana Michel case proved not enough.

The judges are rebelling: They keep on challenging the ruling power

Rehavana Michel was Toliara city´s magistrate (South) beat death by police officers in late 2011. The union of magistrates responded to this incident with a strike and summoned the minister in charge of national police to step down. The union´s chairman, Marius Arnaud Augustus, denounced besides the attempt to bribe some judges so that they draw the movement to an end. On this account, the verdict was returned: judges will no longer receive orders from the transitional ruling power. And all the judges ever keeping on cooperating with the Executive power are allowed to expect punishment.
