The new archbishop meets the president.

There are those who say that relations between the presidents office and the new archbishop of Antananarivo were not the best. Well at first look it seems the two get along just fine. Midi says, ?The first meeting between the President of the Republic Marc Ravalomanana and the new archbishop of Antananarivo, Mgr Odon Arsène Razanakolona took place in the state palace of Ambohitsorohitra and lasted for 45 minutes. According to the archbishop their meeting was amicable and centered on the cooperation of church and state and obviously of the Catholic Church. He mentioned in particular the schools of Tsaramasay and Sekolintsika in Analamahitsy. These same schools also benefited from some presidential aid. The education of Malagasy children has always been the sector where church and state can get along and by extension to apply this same catholic education to their parents has been of particular interest to the church.
