By the end of 2009, Andry Rajoelina, Marc Ravalomanana, Didier Ratsiraka and Albert Zafy signed political deals supervised by the international community in order to put an end to the Malagasy crisis. One year later, the situation is everything but the one expected from scratch.
Andry Rajoelina is absolutely keen on enforcing a very controversial fourth Republic. The negotiations failed but the opposition did not buy the idea.
Andry Rajoelina has been being compelled to rule by the use of force since he became transitional leader in March 2009. Some 300 various people, including 50 militaries have been jailed. A referendum very much challenged by the opposition and the civil society took place on November 17th. Now Rajoelina´s supporters are still ruling any recovery of the negotiation table out.
