Toamasina is FLOODED

While the fever epidemic has not yet been totally beaten, another serious problem has arisen in Toamasina. The Tribune says, ?Toamasina in under water. While the dengue fever has not been beaten, torrential rains have continued to fall for several days and the whole town in flooded. This is a very serious situation because almost all the sewer lines are now non functional and the daily business of the city has ground to a halt. Obviously this will not help the fever situation. Politically the entire population is being held hostage to the loggerhead between the Mayor Roland Ratsiraka and the municipal counsel headed by TIM, Randrianasolo Michel. It seems nothing is being done and two intended meetings have been cancelled in the absence of the mayor. Apparently no new meetings have been scheduled and the situation continues to get worse.?
