Is there any government in the country? Yes, there is. A short statement has been used to recall the transitional government's very presence, currently eclipsed by the Maputo meeting attended by several of its members, and whose Prime minister Roindefo is part of Andry Rajoelina's delegation. Meanwhile, the HAT and the government are quarrelling about rice belonging to… Ravalomanana.

When the HAT and the government are losing their mind

The transition’s government, or rather its remains in the country, is supportive of the Rajoelina mobility. They are keeping the pressure up through an unexpected mean: a message of satisfaction. “We saw and noticed that no one swerved from the defence of the people’s choice “, read the statement. The government is temporarily led by the national defence secretary, colonel Noel Rakotonandrasana.

The defence secretary’s choice to direct the government doesn’t have any particular incentive, because it has been planned from scratch. Noel Rakotonandrasana is indeed the country’s number 2. He is therefore standing apart from the other casual official in charge of a proper ministry. This situation of exception is justified by the appointment context of the Roindefo government.

The government directed by colonel Rakotonandrasana “is calling upon the Malagasy to remain calm and entirely trustful into the delegation that made for Maputo”. Of course he’s talking about the Rajoelina mobility. Apart from the foreign minister, Ny Hasina Andriamanjato who was part of the first delegation, Nadine Ramaroson is also in the Mozambican capital city “to speak out on behalf of the population”. The minister of Population replaced at the last moment the national education minister, Julian Razafimanazato, basically dimmed to travel with Andry Rajoelina.

As Andry Rajoelina and Monja Roidnefos are in Maputo to keep their grip on power, things are getting tense between the HAT and the government. The concern is Tiko’s rice, raided by the authorities. From the stored 35 000 tons, a tenth of a thousand would still be left for sale in order to fill up the state’s treasury.

The Government’s Council withdrew the operational Cell led the HAT, previously in charge of selling Marc Ravalomanana’s corporations’ stocked rice from the warehouses of Toamasina’s harbour. These goods served as propaganda tool for Andry Rajoelina and for the HAT which, thus, could achieve their promise to sell rice cheaply, for 500 ariary per kilogram.

Regarding power abuses perpetrated by politicians who only care about their home regions, the Trade minister is handling things back again. The remaining stock will be sold for 800 ariary per kilogram, to produce some 8 billions of ariary for the State. The authorities of transition are keen on compelling Tiko to pay back its enjoyed tax advantages whose amounts are being contested by the lawyers of the group founded by Marc Ravalomanana.

The members of the HAT Cell didn’t let themselves in for, and are claiming that only a decree can put an end to their task. “There’s been a slight staggering period because of this legal matter, but in between, more of 3500 tons have been removed from the warehouse within few hours”, complained minister Jean Claude Rakotonirina. The rice was supposed to repay loans made by Tiko and granted by the state treasury.
