Within a stay in Majunga, one gets quickly into the habits of Majunga. One of them: is the "promenade" along the seaside on Wednesday evenings.

Evenings in Majunga along the seaside.

The beachfront (next to the port) is a popular place to be for a large number of Majungais but also for tourists and foreigners. Towards nightfall, in fact, people of all ages come with family and friends to sit down next to the sea. They spend much of the evening to breathe the sea breeze which is so gentle and caressing at this hour. The promenade is a place of pure relaxation.

But the seafront is also a meeting place, many are here to meet friends while for others it is a place of reunion: review long-time friends, rencard with the beloved all of them with drinks and snacks from the improvised stores near by.

On weekends, the waterfront is still more popular. Some say that Saturday is reserved for residents of Tsararano (the neighborhood of Majunga) and Sunday to those of the Corniche (the residential area). But that does not prevent people from the two districts to attend along the promenade as well on Saturday than Sunday.

In short, the seaside is a wonderful place to watch the sunset (because Majunga lies to the west of Madagascar) and breathe the sea breeze all evening. This is a wonderful opportunity to see families together who spend some time together in a relaxed atmosphere and old friends who find themselves in the joy! This proves that the spirit of the group is still anchored in Malagasy.
