Increase in rice harvest: China and Madagascar face the same battle.

CHINA as we know has become the 4th most important world economy. Concerning rice culture their knowledge may help us all. It?s all about new rice seed. According to the Gazette byline ?Rice Production? the Chinese experts claim possible crop increases of 35%-100%. Quoting that article, « While some improvement has been noted in Malagasy rice production during this last campaign, the beginnings of rice self sufficiency have not yet been defined. Authorities count on 15% growth this year?s growing season. Our last seasons harvest shoed a slight increase with a national production of 3 million tons. Chinese experts from the « Hunan Academy of Agricultural Science » presently visiting Madagascar may help with our expectation of increased agricultural production.
