The Special Electoral Court will release the ultimate results of the presidential election's round two on Friday, January 17th. Such an early date raised concerns among the Oppostion members, namely among those happening to be closely operating with Jean Louis Robinson, the AVANA party's presidential champion, for it would hint that electoral judges might have turned a blind eye on the largest part of the charges held against electoral cheats.

Presidential showdown: the Opposition dreads the hasty release of results

“No less than thousands of electoral reports are available as evidences of electoral result manipulations to the transitional ruling power’s presidential candidate and delivered to the Special Electoral Court” declared a lawyer closely working together with Jean Louis Robinson. “I do not believe the electoral judges to have had enough time to make anything like an in depth assessment of these evidences” he added later on. The Opposition consequently dreads an early and botched release of results without any shadow of consideration of the massive complains. The country’s very political future is closely intertwined with the decision to be made much too soon to its taste. The Electoral Commission granted to Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the transitional leader’s and ruling power’s champion, a try strongly challenged by Jean Louis Robinson and its staff. The Special Electoral Court is expected, either to make the transformation kick, or to strip the candidate accused of electoral frauds from the unfairly gained votes. The Opposition required a recount as well as a report check up in some polling stations; the Court conceded the conduct of a check up of reports from the concerned polling stations. Yet, no one can confirm whether it has ever come true or not.
