The week of terror, the fantasy script

The violent protests, the clashes and the crazed rampage in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the students’ revolt which led to the fall of the first Republic finally took place, but merely in the armed forces’ fantasy. Psychosis related to the early crash of Rajoelina’s personal 4th Republic is being fueled by the ruling junta, and actually strains no one but the ruling junta. The so-called defenders of public order have only one target: the democratic opposition. Their legitimacy has its source into the quite poorly faked terrorist attempts to blow things up and kill their precious transitional leader.
Few days to May 13th, the HAT power was keen on removing college students from the streets. While calling upon the resumption of courses and by the same way upon the ruling power to meet their teachers’ demands, these teenagers became used to tackle a symbolic walk over the place on which governments have been brought down. Although the HAT added MGA 5 billion up to the teachers’ allowances, the party was far from over. The ruling power had to inspire fear to demonstrating college students and to their parents. Three people were arrested, including a former transitional congressman; two grenades and paint bombs were seized. So were the results of the operation supposed to have prevented an alleged terrorist attack from coming true in Analakely. The usual propaganda immediately made a political capital out of it: the bloodshed was scarcely averted; parents should prevent their children from demonstrating onto the street. The subsequent dramatic description of the effects of a grenade was deemed to fuel terror.
The word bomb always impresses even if the item contains nothing but paint. Considering that the police forces are still searching for suspects who blasted one shop’s front door in Tsaralalana, the word has its due relevance in the present situation. Photos of the suspects snapped by cameras were released, and someone arrested in Itaosy afterwards. He would have been denounced by an informer supposed to have noticed similarities with the photos.
General Richard Ravalomanana’s Emmo Reg offers MGA 1 million in reward of any information deemed to lead to arrest the suspects. The unusual scoop of the year: investigators are calling upon the “terrorists” to surrender. In all these events, the audience was expecting the Emmo Reg to blame the attempt on the opposition again, especially on the Ravalomanana political sphere. Since a member of his forces has been violently dealt with in the run of the college students’ walk, the anti-opposition general furiously promised to conduct arrests into the Magro square.
On Saturday, May 12th, parliamentarians from the Ravalomanana sphere successfully demonstrated once again against the lack of freedom of speech. The Place of Democracy definitely has the newly confirmed reputation of a Place of Banned Democracy, both times named by Andry Rajoelina. The opposition succeeded in demonstrating over the Place of May, 13th on that day. Clashes and troubles actually appear when and only when the Emmo Reg conducts its rehearsed repression with the use of military force. Still, the police forces took advantage from some individuals’ attempt to bring the traffic to a standstill on this very day
