Tragical death for a promising artist, Médicis murdered

It was one those casual Friday evening. At 21h30, Ankorondrano’s famed street was still very much crowded. So was this bloody dark backstreet leading to the lower districts, the usual checkpoint for robbers. Médicis and his foreign lover used to walk down Ankorondrano’s famed street on their way back home. So they were doing after spending time in one internet cafe of Antanimena, a neighboring area. It was meant to be a tender few minutes long walk through a relatively swarming street on a cool evening, no need for any groundbreaking cab.  

The drama 

But when they reached the suspicious backstreet’s fork, a couple of robbers raided them, long blades or short sabers in the hands. The bad guys were capturing his lover’s purse when Medicis tried to retaliate. The operation was a success, and the bad guys ran away, vanishing in the backstreet’s darkness. In face of his superficial weakness, the singer began to run after the robbers. His lover desperately called him back, for foreseeing the pending danger of such a bold but stupid action. The pursed contained nothing but identity cards.  

Médicis finally gave in to wisdom and pulled back. This was, however, an evidence of weakness for bad guys. As the singer was peacefully leaving, one of the bad guys had decided to avenge the insult of having to flee his victim on his own territory. Without challenge, he cowardly stabbed the man in the back so violently that the blade hit the heart. Then the murderer ran away as so cowardly, leaving a dead body and his lover in total alone. In tears she was begging help from pedestrians, but it was a foreign national who stopped his 4WD a took the victim to the Girard and Robic hospital,It was far too late, Médicis, the singer and the man had already gone.  

Respect to the artist 

Médicis was one of those great artists with more talent than fame. It was a master of the accordion, from the brood of Regis Grizavo with whom he definitely had some common grounds. Both of them were from Tulear, and both used to play this instrument in a traditional manner. The technique is definitely all but conventional, but the result is original. While Regis was drafting merryment songs, Médicis put fire in his music. He got no match in the tsapiky style, for replacing the sound of a solo guitar by the energy of the accordion. On stage, he was playing to transport the audience to the upper level with the suited disguise: plaited hair, a white tank top and a vivid lambahoany around the waist. Various other artists used to join him for bringing excitement in the show.  Médicis will be deeply regretted for his talent as well as for his dignity. He definitely did not deserve such a tragical end.
