49 teachers of the Massif of Ankerana trained on environmental protection

In close collaboration with the school district of Brickaville, The Department of Environment of the Ambatovy Project organized last month training sessions on environmental education geared toward 21 teachers of primary schools and 28 teachers of secondary schools in the surrounding Communes of the Massif of Ankerana.

49 teachers could strengthen their pedagogic knowledge concerning the protection of nature. For Ambatovy, the trainings’ goal is to educate schoolchildren to protect environment by providing their teachers with enough knowledge on the issue, but also to involve all communities in the implementation of its plan of environmental management conducted in conjunction with the process of “Business and Biodiversity Offset Program” ( BBOP ).

The training sessions will enable these teachers to educate students upon returning to their respective schools, bringing the number of local students and teachers involved in an attitude in favor of nature conservation to 2700.
