Marc Ravalomanana was put under house arrest in Antsiranana (Diego Suarez), at the northern end of the island. State officials formally confirmed it. Much higher ranked state officials, like the Defense minister, the Secretary of State in charge of the State Police department and the Secretary of State in charge of the Police department have made to Antsiranana on Wednesday, October 15th. The former president has been driven to many place before ending up under house arrest in Antsiranana city, in a property owned by the armed forces. He might have had a stay in the Palace of Mahazoarivo, in the capital city. He could have been entitled to short visits of the State Police Ratsimandrava base, the armored regiment base in Arivonimamo, series of military facilities in Ambohidratrimo, Maevatanana, Mahajanga, Anjajavy, and possibly to one of the idyllic islands of Iranja before bringing his forced tour to a conclusion in Antsiranana city. His supporters previously used to back an exiled president now support a wandering presidential political prisoner. Over three days, visits have been strictly denied to his family, whose members denounced this situation and pointed the disproportionate use of violence in the process of capturing of the former president.
