The Al Qaeda terrorist group’s branch in Maghreb has kidnapped five French and a Madagascan citizens working for a mining company. Madagascar’s ambassador in Senegal and Niger, Paraina Auguste, is currently in Niamey on this account.

A Madagascan being held by Al Qaeda is a second to none scoop in Madagascar. The victim was working for the French company Areva.
