Air Madagascar: a new aircraft for this year

Once again the President of the HAT, Andry Rajoelina, has made a promise in regard to strengthening the fleet of the national airline company, Air Madagascar, and this time, the promise seems to be the right one. Yesterday, in his speech at the inauguration of ADEMA’s new headquarters at Ivato, Andry Nirina Rajoelina announced that Air Madagascar will acquire a new aircraft.

The head of the HAT regime did not give more details about his promise, whether about its origin, or about its acquisition process, but one thing is sure, the new aircraft will replace one of the Boeings 767 which was already sent back to its owner. This new acquisition will, in any case, relieve Air Madagascar, which is going through very difficult times. On this point, Rajoelina describes the source of the problems of Air Madagascar as rooted in previous mismanagement.

He recalled that before, the management of Air Madagascar was entrusted to foreigners, but that did not bring any good results. By saying so, the President seems to say he has made the right choice by appointing a Malagasy national at the head of the company. Actually, the new manager of Air Madagascar is a long-time member of the company.
