Air Madagascar: Two more flights from Paris

The Malagasy airline, Air Madagascar, has recently decided to make available two additional flights on departure from the Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport. This decision is taken in order to deal with the increasing air traffic in Madagascar. A fifth weekly flight from Paris will be then made available by the company starting on March 27, 2011. This flight will stop in Moroni, before landing in Antananarivo. A sixth direct flight will be available from July 7, 2011, and will link directly Paris with Antananarivo.

This means that the Great Island will be linked with France six days a week. These new flights will actually be assured by the Boeing 767-300, which is capable of carrying 244 passengers in two separate cabins (24 business-class seats and 220 economy-class seats).

It is to be noted that Malagasy pilots are classified among the more experienced in the world. Just last week in Nosy Be, thanks to its pilots, a Boeing 737-300 from Antsiranana avoided an accident where it ran off the runway due to the abundance of water on the runway of Fascène. No one was hurt but the landing gear was severely damaged.
