47 trainee technicians, who have followed training sessions in the LTP (Technical and Professional High school) of Alarobia, will soon put into practice their know-how within the Ambatovy Project’s maintenance department. Their graduation ceremony took place last Friday in the LTP of Alarobia. Trained by qualified and experienced teachers from the Project itself and from international institute like the CEGEP of Canada, the trainee technicians received industrial trainings, namely on industrial mechanics and electricity. So, once in Ambatovy, the trainee technicians can work as technicians, as technical supervisors, and as team leaders.
The training sessions of the 47 trainee technicians started on February 1 and lasted 24 weeks. The main target of the Ambatovy Project in such training is that, with the official start of the nickel and cobalt production next year, the Project will need a large number of qualified technicians to work in its production factories. Actually, in order to ensure the good functioning of the production operations, the Project has to make sure that its technicians have the needed qualifications to perform their jobs, and are up to date with the latest technical innovations. For that, the Ambatovy Project has included education and training among its priority actions.
