The HAT´s presidential convoy would have been targeted of a small size attempt on Thursday March 3rd, 2011 in the evening. The explosion hardly lifted the armored vehicle with Andry Rajoelina on board. No injured and no damages. The consequences: an invasion of swarming investigators on the crime scene, reminding American TV series.

Andry Rajoelina: a small bomb exploded under his armored car

The scoop was expected to shake hearts and minds. Alleged terrorists would have tried to jeopardize the HAT leader´s life. It was basically held as an incident. “Every day on the Masay Swamp road – Boulevard of Europe- cars have to slow down when nearing bumpers, but on that day, we heard a noise seemingly produced by a bursting tire. The convoy kept on forward up to the president´s home”. so read colonel Fidimalala Rafaliarison´s report.

Ambohitsorohitra`s officer told thereafter that the convoy´s last car received the order to stop and see what went on. The bomb attempt option was immediately retained. The blast of small quantity of explosives would have been triggered at a distance. A  100 yards long thread would have been laid along the crash-barrier. “The bomb has been hidden under the grass”, declared the officer. Nothing odd was found on this road. A car parked on the roadside but nothing incriminating was recovered, there was even in a child inside.

Camille Vital in the detective’s role

The investigator in chief on “the attempt” scene on the Boulevard of Europe was the Prime minister of the HAT himself. Camille Vital was keen on joining the scene even though his president Rajoelina warned him not to do so for his own security. What an outstanding evidence of bravery, isn´t it? The general Vital was able play the detective actively investigating the crime scene in front of a panel of TV cameras. During a short moment, he turned into an expert in exploding devices explaining that terrorists inverted the red and the blue threads. Such a clumsiness would explain that the explosion was irrelevant, although it could have caused far more damages, according to the southern hemisphere´s best expert. Bad luck! The Prime minister was politely contradicted by one of the real investigators who explained him that this did not impact on the explosive power.

The general Vital gave a share of his mind to the presidential security for this blunder concerning the presidential convoy. “this boulevard had to be secured during 15 minutes”, he said. Camille Vital offered an example by unveiling that he was regularly altering his way to this office, sometimes through the Boulevard of Europe, the 67Ha or the By-Pass. He subsequently promised sanctions the attempt´s authors. Camille Vital doesn’t rule out the link between the present political situation and the case. “Let’s act quietly”, he moderated anyway. The script of the bomb scene was perfect: a lot of noise very little damages and no victim at all. Only the writer´s name is missing.
