Communiqué de Naika Eliane : Apaisement d’abord !

Official statement produced by Naika Eliane: appeasement first!

Here follows Naika Eliane´s official stand.

After due consideration, I concluded to stay away from talks with Mr. Rajoelina. His opened violation of the roadmap is the reason for this decision. Mr. Rajoelina, on top of an illegally ruling junta without any democratic legitimacy, must immediately tackle what it takes to restore appeasement in compliance with the roadmap which he signed. In this sense has however not a single effort been achieved, as displayed by the following facts:

• Political prisoners are still behind bars

• Judicial persecution directed against opponents still remain

• The arrest warrant and the ban on President Marc Ravalomanana and the other exiled figures have not yet been cancelled

• Television and radio channels are still being censored

• And the list is in no way over…

I do remain firmly convinced that nothing but a transition pledging peace, order and democracy is deemed to lead us to believable elections
